SEA (Search Engine Advertising) is paid advertising on search engines such as Google, appearing at the top of or next to the organic search results.
How SEA works
At SEA you pay per click (CPC) for ads that appear as soon as someone types in a relevant search term. Advertisers bid on keywords in an auction model; the winner is determined not only by the bid but also by the quality score, the relevance of the ad, keyword, and landing page together.
Immediate results, immediate budget
The biggest difference compared to seo: SEA It delivers visibility within hours, but stops as soon as the budget runs out. It doesn't build long-term value the way organic rankings do; every click costs money, regardless of how long the campaign has been running.
Where SEA is the strongest
SEA is ideally suited for:
- Immediate lead generation at high search intent (“request a quote,” “price”).
- New services or products that have not yet established an organic ranking.
- Seasonal peaks where speed is more important than long-term growth.
- A/B testing of messages and promotions, with immediately measurable results.
SEA and seo reinforce each other
Data from SEA-campaigns (which keywords convert, which ad copy works) can be used immediately to seo-Prioritizing content, and conversely, a strong organic ranking prevents you from having to keep paying for every click on keywords where you’re already at the top.
