Domain Authority (Domain Authority, DA) is a score ranging from 0 to 100, developed by Moz, that predicts how well a website can rank in search engines.
Not an official Google metric
DA is not a ranking factor that Google itself uses, but one used by the seo-an industry-wide, backlink-profile-based measure of authority. Similar, though not identical, alternatives include Ahrefs’ Domain Rating (DR) and Semrush’s Authority Score, each with its own calculation method, meaning that scores across different tools are not directly comparable.
What DA Is Actually Useful For
DA is particularly useful for making relative comparisons: how does your domain stack up against direct competitors, and which potential link sources are strong enough to be worth the effort for link building. As an end in itself, it has little value; a high DA without relevant, converting visitors yields little benefit.
Increase DA
A higher DA is achieved almost exclusively through time and a growing number of high-quality, relevant backlinks; there is no quick technical trick to manipulate the score without actually building authority.
